Inspiration for This Work

Mushu is a boutique located in Surry Hills. The Vietnamese Australian born owner designs collections of Eastern and Western fusion styled bags, which attract trendy young crowds in Sydney. As the business grows, its identity needed to be renewed as the original identity design was ambiguous. The concept and the design of the business card were inspired by the traditional writing material - ink and the final design strengthens the identity of the store successfully.

Student Biography

Being born in Hong Kong during the time of the British colonization, I was brought up in a vivid environment where Western and Eastern cultures mixed together. I was constantly exposed to the ever-changing materialistic world, in which trends are changing every now and then. And because of that I became familiar with the influences of design, which eventually nurtured me in becoming a designer.

I see myself as a problem solver when doing design. Each design to me is like a puzzle. There are always pieces you can use from the box though there are greater chances that I have to create some of the missing pieces on my own. But once it's all put together, there will be a better picture for the world to enjoy.
