Student Biography

"You sure he won't put his eye out?"

Those were the first words Sean heard the moment he held his first pencil at the age of 3. That moment was the beginning of his lifelong quest to find other media through which he could let his ideas take visual forms. From traditional to digital, no media is sacred. An early fascination with comics inspired him to pursue the illustrative and sequential arts. Late night viewings of classic Harry Hausen movies added stop motion and filmmaking to his interests. Watching the lawyer-eating-dinosaurs in Jurassic Park and neck snapping espionage action of Metal Gear Solid inspired him to try his hand at 3D modelling and animation.

No matter the medium in which he works, he presents a unique visual mix that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also includes glimpses into his own life and interests. Subtle but equally subversive, his artworks usually includes a slightly morbid twist that is not obvious at first glance but only noticeable upon multiple viewings. Occasionally spending his spare time self-publishing comics in the local independent comic scene, he also does freelance illustration and design on the side.

Now, at the age of 24, Sean still has the use of both his eyes, thankfully.
