Inspiration for This Work

This is one of my earlier works in my "Slinky Series" as I began to explore the mixed media approach.

Student Biography

Born in 1987, Somphors had expressed a love for creativity from an early age. However, it was not until mid way through high school that she began to show an interest in computers and technology, and her passion for visual design in a digital context was realised.

Somphors specialises in graphic design, illustration and digital imaging, however she also possesses proficiencies in web and multimedia design and development, 2D and 3D animation, video editing and photography.

She draws most of her inspiration from observing the world around her and holds great interest in culture and media studies. Her style can be typically described as mixed media illustration, combining photos with computer generated graphics and scanned elements. Although fond of her methodologies of working, she likes to be conscious of the contemporary trends in the field, and adaptive to the dynamically evolving practices of art and design.
