Inspiration for This Work

These concepts were designed for the launch of the Australian movie Fink, a black/action comedy about a bunch of seedy, underworld crooks. The client needed a cult crime classic feel for the graphics.

When were you born?

Generation Y, Aquarian.

What is your background?

I'm Australian, born in Sydney, my parents are from Finland and the UK.

What inspired you to become an artist or designer?

Design is rewarding through the creation of something tangible after all your hard work and effort.

How has your work evolved over the past 3 years?

My work is constantly evolving. It began with photographic elements and bold, contrasting graphics. My designs have since evolved into work which includes more illustration, and has become more organic in nature. I also use colour more freely.

How can art and design contribute to society?

Design can contribute to society in many ways. It can educate, influence attitudes and behaviour, or simply make people happy. Designers should use their power for good.

Where would you like to work after university?

I'd like to work for a creative, energetic studio, agency or magazine that exceeds their client expectations and inspires me to grow with them. Further into my career, I would like to be involved in design education.
