Sharon Bellia
Student Biography
I am primarily an atmospheric artist who enjoys painting, drawing and etching. My main focus is to create artworks that can be perceived as ominous and threatening as the environments I depict are mostly represented in the night time, turning perfectly innocent daytime scenes into hostile, even sinister places. My works use symbolism such as doorways, alleyways, shadows and dramatic lighting to insinuate meanings and elaborate on the negative atmosphere in the works. To me, my art expresses the disturbing, hidden and hushed up stories that happen in our society.
