Cultural exchange. The Australian Landscape and Elioth Gruner’s “Spring Frost, Emu Plains.” Las Vegas and its lights. Excalibur Hotel and colour. The kitsch aesthetic, as an example of a global modern aestheitc.

Student Biography

When were you born?

April 1986.

What is your background?

I was born and raised in Australia, however spent parts of my childhood overseas, living in The Philippines and Indonesia.

What inspired you to become an artist or designer?

When I won the year 6 art prize I knew I had a gift……

Who would you like to work in collaboration with or create something for?

I would like to collaborate with anyone who inspires me, whether it is with like-minded contemporaries or already practicing professionals. Perhaps with Hello Sandwich.

How has your work evolved over the past 3 years?

My work has evolved greatly, becoming more considered. I have developed my conceptual thinking and refined my technical skills, while also developing a stronger sense of my own aesthetic.

Where would you like to work after university?

I would like to work anywhere which allows me to continue my drawing and painting practice.
