When were you born?

Brunei Darussalam

What is your background?

I’m half Chinese, half Bruneian. Been in Australia since the age of 2.

What inspired you to become an artist or designer?

I became inspired by a high school art teacher who felt I had an eye for manipulating the digital elements. I see the world in a funny surreal perspective, and work to squeeze out the meanings.

Who would you like to work in collaboration with or create something for?

Working in collaboration, there is a joy when combining skills to make something grand and something that is beyond one’s abilities. That’s what teamwork is all about.

How has your work evolved over the past 3 years?

Somewhat. I tend to find myself working more on the technical side. My conceptual ideas have been realised as I focus on how to create work quickly and realistically.

How can art and design contribute to society?

Art probably does not exist without a society. Society works towards a flawless design. And therefore art and design are there to build what we know of this world.

Where would you like to work after university?

I aim to create special effects in fantastic environments for film and 3D.
