Inspiration for This Work

During several site analyses I was over come by the immense serenity, calm and relaxing atmosphere of the parks and the disruption of the Road dividing it. I looked for inspiration in nature to continue this atmosphere over the road. I used elements such as greenery, transparency and water features.

When were you born?

I was born on July 15th 1984.

What is your background?

I was born in Sydney, have lived here my entire life. My background is Italian.

What inspired you to become an artist or designer?

I have always wanted to solve problems and make a difference. Becoming a designer gives me the opportunity to fulfil this passion as well as contributing my abilities to better the world. I also admire nature how all its components work harmoniously in an elaborate synchronised system, I want to design the man made world similarly.

Who would you like to work in collaboration with or create something for?

Any company, especially, but not limited to the textile industries who are dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment and world in general. I want to use my ability to change and empower the way people think about their world. In particular for her amazing, delicate, detailed work would be Collette Dinnigan, perhaps incorporating organic materials into her ranges.

How has your work evolved over the past 3 years?

I have developed an organic aspect in both my design process and style. I like to go with the flow of things see where they take me then evaluate and make changes when and where needed. I have learnt to follow my instincts and intuition toward developing unique designs. Also arriving at the belief anything is possible, and finding ways to make it happen.

How can art and design contribute to society?

"Design is in everything we make, but it's also between those things. It's a mix of craft, science, storytelling, propaganda, and philosophy." Erik Adigard.

Design and art throughout history have been cleverly incorporated into society as well as helped shape it. There is an inextricable link between the two that makes up the very world we live in.

Where would you like to work after university?

A design firm with a strong concern for the environment and ethic to make a difference. Also my own practice allowing my mind to continue exploring endless possibilities. Either way developing solutions to problems which are contextually relevant.
