Student Biography

When were you born?

My mother constantly reminds me that I was born lucky at a time of great hope during the 1960s and 70s.

What is your background?

I was born in the East End of London with a great mix of races and cultures to Jamaican parents.

What inspired you to become an artist or designer?

Sunday afternoons rearranging the space and furniture of the lounge then watching the surprised expressions of the family of the newly designed room.

Who would you like to work in collaboration with or create something for?

Local artist/designer Abi Alice for the purity in her works and London designer Solange Azagury-Patridge for her eclecticism in her jewellery designs.

How has your work evolved over the past 3 years?

My work has grown confidently with positive response from my peers. In depth research and exploration has become a passion with unexpected outcomes.

How can art and design contribute to society?

We are all designers wanting to look after and live in a better world. We need to adopt the philosophy of function, beauty and sustainability.
