Inspiration for This Work

I was playing around with my new camera. The shots taken are part of a bigger work for my Digital Composite3 class.

Student Biography

When were you born?

I was born in Wellington, New Zealand in the year 1983. I lived there for 9 years.

What is your background?

I am from the Netherlands. All my family is from there except me and 2 of my 3 brothers. My mother and father are both Dutch. My Father works as a director designing safety shoes at an international company called BATA. My Mother works at a health clinic were she's gives people health check-ups for work.

What inspired you to become an artist or designer?

I have always wanted to be an artist. It has only been the last few years that I have been able to study what I like.

Who would you like to work in collaboration with or create something for?

Yes, I have done this many times back in the Netherlands. It is one of the corner stones of the art school I go to., taking people from different fields and creating something together.

How has your work evolved over the past 3 years?

I would have to say slowly. Between school and a healthy social life it's quite difficult to put time in our own projects. Nonetheless I have finished a few.

How can art and design contribute to society?

I think art and design styles the future. Every artist no matter what he or she says is influenced by something external.

Where would you like to work after university?

To be honest I haven't considered it. I am here on exchange. Right now I'm just trying to get a feel for the subjects I'm following here. However, I won't pass up an opportunity.
