Inspiration for This Work

This book is a conservation based project which aims to educate children about the problems caused by plastic bags on the Great Barrier Reef. It is the core piece of a package which also includes bean bag toys, a book bag and marketing tools.

Student Biography

As a designer I hope to gain knowledge of the world through interacting with people and translating information into an aesthetic sense. I design because I gain satisfaction from executing an idea and seeing the finished project. I also enjoy the conceptual stages of planning, which are not always recognised, but are highly important to effective communication. I think that combining different disciplines is an interesting and often very effective way of working, as techniques are adapted and different people come together to share their interests.

I feel that creativity is a skill that can be taken anywhere and is something that can be applied to almost anything; it is a creative tool that can be used to communicate with people. This understanding of the visual is one of my strongest skills as a person and I look forward to all the places that it will take me in the future.
