Inspiration for This Work

This magazine identity was created with the idea of a fashion publication with a difference. Creating layouts for an example edition, the magazine focused on the designer and where the clothing designs come from, rather than just the garments and the latest 'fashion'.

Stories are still supported by images, but the editorial layout is also an important part to the identity of the publication.

Photographs and body text not my own.

Student Biography

The appeal of design is that the ideals of design are inclusive of both aesthetics and function. Creations are seen as a whole, so that it is so important to balance the see-saw of how something works, with how it looks. I am attracted to the logical way that we must consider the practicalities of our products, but satisfied by making aesthetics a necessity.

I include in my designs what I find most alluring in my environment, something simple and fresh, with the slightly unexpected, the surprise that we find in the shadows. I believe that these small details are vital to making things amazing.
