Inspiration for This Work

My concepts over the last several months has looked at memories experienced at the sea and the creatures and landscape that is situated there. This final piece looks at the beauty of the coral eg. shape & colour. And communicates that after a bad experience something good follows.

When were you born?

14th March 1986

What is your background?

My family originated from Cyprus. I’m very involved in the Greek culture and use elements of it in my concept and technique.

What inspired you to become an artist or designer?

I was fascniated by art as a child and enjoy using it as a means to communicate. I’ve known i’ve wanted to be an artist from a young age.

Who would you like to work in collaboration with or create something for?

I’m inspired by a wide range of artists. I would love to work/design with Akira Isakawa, Alex Perry or Shona Wilson just to name a few.

How has your work evolved over the past 3 years?

My work has become more personal and an extension of myself. Many of my pieces have been derived from personal experiences.

How can art and design contribute to society?

Art contributes to society by giving the world meaning and memory. Art is a reflection of the past and future and is found everywhere.

Where would you like to work after university?

Following my degree I would like to continue producing art and work for a fashion designer or in an art gallery.
