Inspiration for This Work

By practicing jewellery design and crafting, I aim to re-draw the relationship between typography and a jeweller. According to historical references, metalworking and engraving skills of jewellers were necessary for making movable type for printing in Europe.

All the jewellery pieces are one-off, handcrafted to custom orders with 925 Sterling Silver.

Student Biography

When were you born?

The sixth month of the year of pig, 1983.

What is your background?

I am from a family of 4 in Hong Kong and bring the only one who chose to explore the wonderful typographic design world in my family.

What inspired you to become an artist or designer?

I am inspired by my daily life :-)

Who would you like to work in collaboration with or create something for?

Droog, Frost*, Experimental Jetset, Toko, Keith Tam, Zak Kyes, Kenya Hara…Otl Aicher!

How has your work evolved over the past 3 years?

I started off as a piece of blank paper and now I am a small collection of visual journals; keep stacking up still.

Where would you like to work after university?

Any where that I feel comfortable working; with Australia 1st on my list, Netherlands the 2nd.
