Artist Biographical Statement

Born in Sydney 1981, currently completing a Master of Art Degree (Sculpture & Installation), at College of Fine Arts UNSW. Completed Bachelor of Horticultural Science 2003 & Cert III Land Conservation and Restoration 2006. As an emerging artist I have exhibited and taken part in solo shows, group exhibitions and residencies in Australia and Canada.

Artist Statement

Through pictorial medium I attempt to make/present objects in such a fashion that they have not yet been seen before. My recent work investigates the notion of space and function, altering the associations of recognizable objects.

My work investigates the presence of mass, tension and simplicity within a given object or sculptural installation. I deal with our perceptual awareness and response to things that is directly necessitated by the work as a sensuous/physical entity. I take into account the main activity of the space/building/gallery and interact creating objects, installations and assemblages.
