Inspiration for This Work

To create a tactile fluid piece still in time with an element of ambiguity. My intention with the forms is to create a tension and suspended animation as they are installed over corners and edges, moulding to the surrounding environment.

Student Biography

I am a 21 year old, Sydney based sculpture and installation artist. My work includes self- reflective themes such as growing up and trying to understand the past's relevance to the present. The works address ideas such as reflecting on the past, desire (what forms attract us), self-exploration and tactile memory. Experimenting with different materials and processes is a vital part in the evolution of my work. This methodology of experimentation/play reflects the possibilities of chance in the process of the work. Experimentation is my sketch book. I also try to achieve an element of fluidity and ambiguity in my work. I wish to embrace the viewer's imaginative escapism and to have a chance to reflect on their identity as well.
