Student Biography

When were you born?

I was born in 1983

What is your background?

I was born in Taiwan, came to Australia at the age of 18. My family runs a manufacturing business.

What inspired you to become an artist or designer?

In the beginning, I was just simply interested in painting and illustration. Since I got into the College of Fine Arts, I was stimulated by the educational system that built up my strong interest towards design and motivated me into becoming a cross discipline designer

Who would you like to work in collaboration with or create something for?

In the future, I would like to work with people who also have the same interests and passion as me in the design area. Besides, I am looking forward to having the opportunity for creating a touching and satisfied design for my clients.

How has your work evolved over the past 3 years?

The major evolvement of my work was reflected on the maturity and the improvement of concepts. Moreover, different perspective on looking at things gave me a chance to experiment with different possibilities in my design practice.

How can art and design contribute to society?

I believe design is the same as invention, yet design embraces aesthetic and meaningful aspects. The purpose is creating a better life for people.

Where would you like to work after university?

I would like to work in furniture design and manufacturing, which specialising in domestic objects.
