Inspiration for This Work

My Journal series draws its inspiration from a journal I kept from a family trip to the US as a 6 year-old. The original image and text are coupled with more recent remarks I had made while travelling on exchange last year - 15 years older and far more cynical.

Student Biography

I'm a 21 year old printmaker and have a primary focus in screen printing. I love and enjoy how as a printmaker my process is broken down into thoughtful, methodical stages. This year I have explored how this practice can be juxtaposed with the naive spontaneity of childhood drawings, and also use the motif of colour-by-numbers to deal with this idea of artistic process while also critiquing the system's restrictive nature. I have also moved into creating 3D printed works through sewing with textiles I have screen printed.
