This corn picker design reflects on the function of chopsticks, a knife and a toothpick. It also depicts the beauty of freshness and fluid flow of a corn.

Student Biography

When were you born?

November 1985.

What is your background?

I was bought up in Hong Kong - a sacred city with variety and opportunities. At the age of 17, I made a decision. I would extend my opportunities in this piece of multicultural land of Australasia.

What inspired you to become an artist or designer?

"I wish to be a creative practitioner, an iconic designer creating iconic designs..." I had this very same feeling when I came across every masterpiece by every genius around the globe.

Who would you like to work in collaboration with or create something for?

Whoever owns a sense of appreciation, is whom I prefer to work with and work for. Design is not something to take for granted, and good design is only there for those who respect and appreciate it.

How has your work evolved over the past 3 years?

I always have a passion for object design, and over the time I'm hovering between the path of clean line and design simplicity.

How can art and design contribute to society?

The creative industry is all the time striving to surprise society and the community.

Where would you like to work after university?

Small object and furniture design is always where my passion falls on, yet there is still a lot more to explore and challenge. I believe being multi-disciplinary is the best place to land.
