Inspiration for This Work

A series of upholstery, designed to transform the sombre ambience created by the current use of generic designs in existing train interiors. The current designs are a result of the lack of designer contribution during the design and creation process of trains. To tackle this situation I have created a set of three design-orientated upholstery that attract the common commuter through graphics and textiles. The final upholstery pieces are realised by Le Centre des Textiles Contemporains de Montreal, Canada.

This design was inspired by perceived notions of future train designs. Metallic colours are a staple of futuristic technology therefore this has become the focus element within my patterns.

Student Biography

What inspired you to become an artist or designer?

From a young age I have always been fascinated by how things are made and the processes involved in creating a design. This has inspired me to take on the challenge to create designs of my own.
